Camp Twin Lakes Celebrates 20 Years with a Food Fight

Camp Twin Lakes, which provides life-changing camp experiences for children with serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges, is kicking off its 20th year with a Food Fight featuring local chefs competing with camp-inspired menu items from June through the end of August.

The Atlanta offices of Camp Twin Lakes are in West Midtown at 600 Means Street.

Anyone can have a taste of camp and help children across the state by visiting any of the 19 restaurants and selecting their camp-inspired menu items through August 31. Restaurant patrons then can visit www.camptwinlakes.org/vote to rate the item with one, two or three s’mores.  The restaurant with the most s’mores will be crowned the Food Fight champion.

“Camp Twin Lakes helps campers forget about their challenges and just be kids,” Camp Twin Lakes’ Executive Director Eric M. Robbins said in a release. “Kids in wheelchairs can experience the thrill of a zip line while those requiring treatments like dialysis or chemotherapy can do so in between camp activities. Without Camp Twin Lakes, most of these kids would not be able to experience the joy and life changing experiences of overnight camp.”

To join Camp Twin Lakes in celebrating their 20th Anniversary and help send more kids to camp, visit the following restaurants to enjoy their limited-time, camp-inspired item and cast your s’more rating online. Food Fight menu items include specialty cheeseburgers, milkshakes, shortribs, s’more pancakes, and a sushi roll, to name a few. The contenders to date are:
