Fisher & Phillips Managing Partner Roger Quillen Named to ‘Top 100 Most Powerful Employment Attorneys’

ATLANTA (June 18, 2012) – By leading Fisher & Phillips LLP through a period of significant growth and emergence as one of the country’s best known labor and employment firms, Roger Quillen has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the most skilled law firm managing partners in the country. That evaluation by peers and clients alike has again made him one of the “The Top 100 Most Powerful Employment Attorneys” in the United States.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Quillen, chairman and managing partner of Fisher & Phillips LLP, one of the nation’s leading labor and employment law firms, has been included on this prestigious list. Human Resource Executive magazine compiled the list of influential employment attorneys on the basis of curriculum-vitae analyses, evaluations by clients and peers and reporting by the staff of Lawdragon, a Los Angeles-based news and networking site for lawyers and clients.

Quillen joined Fisher & Phillips in 1980 and has served on the firm’s Management Committee since 1997. He has been the firm’s chairman and managing partner since 1999. Under his leadership, the Midtown-based firm has expanded to 275 attorneys in 27 offices across the United States.

His practice involves litigation covering a wide range of employment discrimination issues, employee welfare benefit plans, the Railway Labor Act and issues arising before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. His area of special emphasis is in federal appellate litigation.

Over the years, Quillen has crafted effective legal strategies for companies in cases ranging from NLRB decisions to class action suits arising from changes in retiree health insurance plans. He represents employers in collective bargaining and counsels them on developing policies to prevent claims and lawsuits.

He has often been included among Georgia Super Lawyers and Georgia’s "Legal Elite," and he has been recognized as one of The Best Lawyers in America continuously since 2006.

Quillen graduated from The Ohio State University College of Law with honors in 1980. He also earned a master’s degree from Purdue University and two bachelor’s degrees at The Ohio State University.
