Six Biomedical Science and Engineering Academy students have been named 2013 Best in State winners of the Verizon Innovative App Challenge. Kalid Ransome, Emma Kasper, Tre Williams, Siddhartha Hughes, Simon Puckett and Caleb Crowley designed an app entitled Hands On Learning, which placed first in the competition. The students now advance to the national competition where they could win $10,000. The students were advised in this engineering enterprise by Ms. Tonia Schofield.
