MIDTOWN'S FISHER & PHILLIPS RE-ELECTS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE CHAIR

The partners of Midtown's Fisher & Phillips LLP, one of the nation’s leading law firms in the field of labor and employment law, have elected Roger K. Quillen to another three-year term on the firm’s Management Committee. Quillen has served continuously on the committee since 1997.

In subsequent action, the firm’s Management Committee re-elected Quillen to serve as its chairman and as the firm’s managing partner, positions he has held since 1999.

Quillen joined Fisher & Phillips in 1980, after receiving his law degree that year from The Ohio State University. He became a partner of the firm in 1987.

As a practitioner, Quillen has focused on litigation involving employment discrimination, welfare benefit plans, and issues under the Railway Labor Act, as well as on matters arising before the National Labor Relations Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He has argued cases in most of the federal courts of appeals, with subject matter varying from review of NLRB decisions to class actions arising from changes in retiree health insurance plans. He has represented employers in collective bargaining and counseled them on strategies designed to prevent claims and lawsuits.

Human Resource Executive magazine has named him one of the “Nation’s Most Powerful Employment Attorneys” every year since 2009, and he has been recognized as one of the Best Lawyers in America since 2006. In 2012, he became a member of the Best Lawyers of America Advisory Board.

In addition to his law degree, Quillen has two bachelor’s degrees from Ohio State and a master’s degree in mathematics from Purdue University. He and his wife, Joanna, have three children and live in Decatur.
