$15 Million in Settlements Reached on Botanical Garden Walkway Collapse
The 2008 accident killed one worker and injured 18 others.
Several lawsuits recently were settled for more than $15 million in the 2008 collapse of the Canopy Walk at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, according to the AJC.
Workers fell around 40 feet to the ground when scaffolding gave way during the construction of the platform, which was built high in the trees on the edge of Piedmont Park in Midtown.
The accident killed one worker, Angel Chupin, and injured 18 others, some severely.
The Canopy Walk opened in 2010.
