An armed robbery attempt at a westside apartment late Sunday afternoon resulted in the inhabitant being arrested on marijuana charges.
According to Atlanta Police Department spokesman John Chafee, at around 5:30 p.m., two suspects approached an apartment located in the 500 block of Northside Circle in the Loring Heights neighborhood.
A 13-year-old boy was alone at his uncle’s apartment residence at the Hartford Place apartments when the two suspects entered the residence through an unlocked rear door. Pointing a handgun at the young teenager, the suspects asked the boy “where the weed” was according to Chafee.
After searching the apartment, the suspects left, where upon the boy asked a nearby citizen to call his uncle and police. It is unknown if any items were taken by the suspects.
During the police investigation into the home invasion, police located a large amount of marijuana and arrested the uncle, Henry Johnson, 20, on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
