Big Names Filming in Midtown but No Sightings Yet

We're really ready to run into J. Lo ...

Midtown has been with word that A-list celebrities are roaming around to film a new movie.

The feature “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” starring Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz, is being produced around Atlanta and already has shot several scenes in Midtown.

Wednesday marked another day of production. Vedado Way, a residential street near , was blocked off most of Wednesday for filming.

Atlanta police proved the best barricades on the block. Sgt. Curtis Davenport kept a watchful eye out for gawking bystanders. A private security guard said that he had scared off several paparazzi.

Patch hoped to catch celebs on the scene but only found crews busy unpacking gear for a day of shooting.

Several large 18-wheeler freight trucks were parked in the lot behind . The trucks were stuffed with grip and gaffer supplies, as well as props. A trickle of staff members were seen as they made their way back and forth from the movie set to load their dollies with additional lights and stands.

One of the gaffers explained that the caravan of trucks and supplies were located at the nearby on Ponce de Leon.

Though unable to get close to the house where the movie was being filmed, a line of tents could be seen from a distance, with people busy moving props back and forth.

Residents had been asked to clear the streets for the filming of the movie, and the shoot lasted from about noon to 8 p.m. on July 27.

“What to Expect When You’re Expecting” is being produced by Lionsgate and WTE Productions, Inc. and is a romantic comedy based on Heidi Murkoff’s best-selling manual for mothers-to-be.
