Each event has been designed to spotlight the green initiatives of both Tishman Speyer, the property management company that runs the multi-use complex, and the building’s retail and office tenants. At the same time, the WGBW events will educate the community about small, sustainable practices that make a big difference
The week’s events will include a community farmer’s market, an after-work cocktail party and an “Eco-lounge” experience. Programs will be sponsored by Colony Square, building tenants, and external vendors, all of whom are working to help decrease the carbon footprint. All three events are completely free and open to the public.
“Over the last five years, Colony Square has been working to improve performance and overall building efficiency,” Colony Square Senior Property Manager Rebecca Holland said in a news release. "This week is an opportunity for us to educate people on the amazing “green efforts” that are taking place at Colony Square and around the world. Our goal is to get people engaged, focused, and excited about making our community one of the greenest in the nation.”
Colony Square joins Tishman Speyer properties from across their global portfolio and more than 60,000 sustainable commercial developers globally who are participating in World Green Building Week at their respective properties.
Colony Square was constructed in the early 1970s as Atlanta's original mixed-use project. Today, Colony Square is a state-of-the-art, amenity filled, bustling complex offering tenants efficient office space, residential condominiums, a hotel (the W hotel) and a retail mall. The two office towers, totaling 700,000 square feet, provide tenants with a variety of options, with 14,400 square foot floor plates in the 100 Tower to 19,000 square foot floor plates in the 400 Tower.
