When/Where: Friday from 9:00am to 7:00pm at the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
Why Go: Celebrate rare plants and animals on this 6th annual Endangered Species Day. Enjoy storybook readings, pitcher plant dissections, games, giveaways, talks with scientists, forest rangers and biologists - and stay for the live animal presentation at 6:00pm with herpetologist and author, Whit Gibbons.

- BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
When/Where: Saturday at 11:00am , 1:00pm and 3:00pm at the Center for Puppetry Arts.
Why Go: There are only two weekends left to catch this modern take on the classic tale, Beauty and the Beast. Your kids will be inspired by the “found object” style of puppet construction - don’t miss the Create-A-Puppet workshop included with your ticket purchase. (Shows runs Tues-Sunday through May 29th)
Pricing: $9.00 members; $16.00 non-members.
When/Where: Saturday from 11:00am to noon at the Green Market chef demo area in Piedmont Park.
Why Go: Children (accompanied by an adult) will learn to prepare easy, healthy meals and will also tour the market and meet the farmers and artisans who produce their food. This is a great opportunity to encourage your kids to try new fruits and vegetables!

When/Where: Sunday at 3:00pm at the German Cultural Center Atlanta/Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, Colony Square, Plaza Level, 1197 Peachtree St., NE.
Why Go: Join international communicator Uwe Kind for an afternoon of melody, rhythm, movement, drama and phrases in this fun and highly interactive language concert (sponsored by the Consulate General of Germany in Atlanta as part of Germany Weeks 2011) designed to help students learn and memorize the German language!
