Honey Bubble Tea Open on Ponce
Ponce de Leon restaurant seeks to build niche around quality ingredients and personal service.
Honey Bubble Tea opened in mid-January at 798 Ponce de Leon Ave.
The shop, which specializes in imported teas from Asia and desserts, is the brainchild of two Atlanta residents, one of whom is of Chinese heritage.
Bubble teas are are so-called because they have small, tapioca balls that are in the drinks.
The shop was to have opened in September of last year, according to What Now Atlanta.
While the shop is dessert and tea oriented, its owners are leaving the sweets to established outlets including Alon's, the Atlanta Cupcake Factory and frozen specialties from Honeysuckle Gelato.
Honey Bubble Tea will focus on, well, tea.
"Our drinks are handcrafted and customized to each and every guest," according to a posting explaining its operations on its Facebook page.
While it takes longer, the owners have decided to focus on personalized service.
"Almost every single bubble tea shop in Atlanta is staffed by rude, texting, gum chewing people," the Facebook posting reads. "Not here. We take pride in serving you. Our music is chosen to help you slow down and relax for a few."
