Armed robbery of juveniles at Piedmont Park
Two of a reported five alleged suspects later arrested in Midtown neighborhood
According to the Atlanta Police Department, two men were arrested on armed robbery charges overnight in midtown after allegedly being a part of a larger group that had robbed a pair of juveniles in nearby Piedmont Park.
APD Zone 5 officers responded to a pedestrian robbery call at the park around 11:45 p.m. After receiving a description of the suspects and a general direction they had fled in, a subsequent canvass of “the midtown neighborhood” resulted in two of the five suspects being apprehended.
According to APD Officer Kim Jones, a further canvass of the area yielded a weapon that was used by the suspects. The gun was a type of pellet gun that looked like a "full sized semi auto 9mm or 40 cal pistol" wrote Officer Jones.
