Piedmont Park to Offer Carriage Rides, Caroling for Holiday Season

Conservancy introduces first annual 'Season of Magic.'

This holiday season will be a special one at Piedmont Park.

This year, the Piedmont Park Conservancy is launching a new event called the "Season of Magic," which will feature horse-drawn carriage rides, a costumed caroling parade, holiday light show and carousel rides.

The event will run from Nov. 20 to Jan. 1, 2012.

“We wanted to create the perfect destination for families to celebrate the season. I don’t think there’s a more beautiful place in Atlanta to create lasting holiday memories than Piedmont Park,” Yvette Bowen, president and CEO of the conservancy, said in a release. “Piedmont Park, Georgia’s most visited free amenity, will quickly become Atlanta’s premier holiday destination.”

Money raised during the Season of Magic will benefit the conservancy.

"We are happy to support the conservancy in its partnership with the city to provide for the continued maintenance of Piedmont Park, Atlanta's most used green space," George Dusenbury, commissioner of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, said in a release.
