At this month’s Neighborhood Planning Unit-E meeting, Fulton County senior assistant district attorneys told NPU members that a pair of criminals who have victimized Midtown residents and students have recently been sentenced for jail time.

Zone 5 Community Prosecutor Sharla Jackson indicated that Michael Anthony Seawright has been sentenced to at least two years behind bars for his role in a series of thefts involving bicycles.

Jackson described Seawright, who has been arrested no less than 10 times in the last five years, as a repeat offender who has been a “menace, menace, menace.” He most recently was arrested on Feb. 14, 2012 attempting to steal a bike on the Georgia Tech campus.

Meanwhile, Zone 2 Community Prosecutor Tiffany Harlow told NPU members that Tracy Dean Foster has been sentenced to at least 10 years in jail. Foster, who was wanted in connection with a 2009 burglary in the Midtown neighborhood, was apprehended in July while attempting to burglarize a sub shop in Midtown.

At the time, he was booked on 20 criminal charges, including 9 counts of commercial burglary for businesses in Buckhead.

In late May, Atlanta police requested assistance from the public in locating Foster for his alleged part in the Midtown neighborhood burglary from three years back. Also in 2009, Foster was arrested by the APD Burglary Unit for a separate incident, and was sentenced to five years in prison.

In January of this year he was paroled from his latest prison stay as the full sentence ran until 2014. He has been incarcerated several times in the last 20 years.
