On Wednesday, the 12th & Midtown development announced the addition of Panera Bread, which should open sometime this summer adjacent to the Bank of America branch in the street level retail at 1010 Midtown on Peachtree Street.

Panera Bread has approximately 30 metro Atlanta locations, but this will be the chain’s first urban locale. In a news release, Selig Enterprises Senior Vice President Shirley Gouffon said, “Panera Bread, with its sound reputation as one of the country’s leading fast casual bakeries, is a wonderful fit and perfect complement to the broad array of cuisines and dining experiences currently offered at 12th & Midtown.”

Last fall, 12th & Midtown announced that summer 2013 would also see the arrival of two new restaurants at 77 12th, the third phase of the development's  master plan. Those new Midtown addition's are Chutney, a full-service Indian restaurant with a decidedly upscale and modern twist, and Taco Diner, a traditional Mexico City-style taqueria.
