Navigating Music Midtown Inside & Out

All you need to know about this weekend's music festival in Piedmont Park that runs on Friday from 4 - 11 p.m. and Saturday from Noon - 11 p.m.

The highly-anticipated Music Midtown returns this weekend and welcomes some of music’s biggest artists to Piedmont Park. If you haven’t downloaded and surfed over your new Music Midtown App just yet, this has you covered. Let’s get you in the know:

ARTIST MARKET:
Besides the big musical draw, Music Midtown is about the local community. Here you will be able to load up on artist merch, meet your favorite DJ in radio row, enjoy a local artisan’s wares or stop by a sponsor booth for sampling, swag and more.

ATM:
Need to grab some cash at the festival, no worries we will have 20 ATMs throughout the festival site for patrons to access.

BOX OFFICE:
Onsite ticket sales begin on Friday at 2:00 p.m. and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at event entrances. The gates will open on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday at noon. Day of show General Admission ticket prices will increase to $65 for a one-day pass. Super VIP prices, VIP and two-day ticket prices will remain the same and no additional fees.

CAMERA EQUIPMENT:
Here’s the camera low-down, non-professional recording devices ie; point and shoots are permitted and only those with media credentials are permitted to use professional camera equipment ie: extended lenses etc. and gain access to the photo pit.

FESTIVAL CUISINE:
Music Midtown does offer a wide array of food and beverages prepared onsite for your enjoyment including some of Atlanta’s great restaurants: Food 101, Meehan’s Public House, Fox Bros. BBQ and more. Beverage stations, street trucks and other festival food favorites will be throughout the site including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

FESTIVAL GATES:
There are three gate entrances into the festival grounds:

  • The Charles Allen Gate “main gate” is located at the corner of 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive
  • The Park Drive Gate is available to attendees coming from Monroe and Park Drives.
  • The Lake Side Gate is accessible at the 12th and 14th street entrances into Piedmont Park (Patrons can enter the park at the base of Oak Hill near the lake).


HANDICAP ACCESS:
Festival promoters have worked to provide an easy and enjoyable experience for every patron. Handicap parking is available in surrounding pay and private lots of the festival site. The far right lane at every gate will be ADA accessible. There will be areas at both stages for any and all ADA issues. They are accessible to those with disabilities as well a ticketed companion. There will be seating and ADA accessible bathrooms for their exclusive use. We also will be providing LED screens that will provide image enhancement for both stages.

ITEMS ALLOWED:
Each patron is allowed to bring in one factory-sealed bottle of water, or, one empty reusable water bottle or Camelback. Non-professional recording point and shoot photography equipment, towels and blankets will be permitted.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED:
For the convenience and safety of all concert attendees, the following items are not permitted on the festival grounds during Music Midtown – pets, large backpacks or bags (framed, hiking packs, etc.), carts, tents or chairs of any kind, coolers, grills or picnic baskets, outside food, alcoholic beverages, glass containers, roller skates/blades, bikes, scooters, skateboards, metal aerosol cans, including sunscreen, professional camera equipment, video/sound recording devices, cameras with video capabilities, weapons, fireworks or illegal substances.

Outside alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the festival due to the Fulton County and Atlanta City ordinances. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase onsite.

Also not allowed: No unauthorized/unlicensed vendors or unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling, giveaways etc.

MARTA:
The festival is cheering for a carless event so remember to take MARTA (The last train leaves the station at 1:00 a.m.). MARTA also has handicap parking and shuttle services.

NEIGHBORS:
We love our festival neighbors. We are moving in for the weekend and want them to feel the same about us. PLEASE be respectful of them and their property at all times during the festival.

PARKING:
Parking is very limited. We encourage all patrons to take MARTA, bicycle, walk, or carpool to Music Midtown. Handicap parking is available in surrounding pay and private lots.

PETS:
We love pets… But, we ask you to leave your pets at home. This is not only for the convenience of our patrons, but also for the well-being of your pets. RE-ENTRY:
Don’t worry, re-entry will be permitted but you MUST have your ticket “scanned out” when exiting. You must use the same ticket to gain re-entry to the festival grounds.

SMOKING:
Smoking onsite is NOT permitted as per Atlanta’s smoking ban in public parks in accordance with the Georgia Smokefree Air Act of 2005, here is the link to the ordinance put into action earlier this year. "Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 31-12A-7 and O.C.G.A. § 31-12A-8 smoking is prohibiting on park grounds."

STREET CLOSURES:
There will be various street closures throughout the festival (patrons can use the Music Midtown Mobile App for festival news).

  • Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 6:00 a.m. through Friday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m., one lane on 10th Street from Charles Allen Drive to Piedmont Avenue (closest to Piedmont Park) will be closed.
  • Beginning on Friday, Sept. 21 at 9:30 a.m., the two west-bound lanes (closest to Piedmont Park) will be closed.
  • On Friday, Sept. 21, 10th Street between Piedmont Avenue and Monroe Drive will be closed until Monday, Sept. 24 at 4:00 a.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 23, 10th Street between Charles Allen Drive and Monroe Drive will be closed until 4:00 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 24 for festival load-out

To draw more attention to these road closures, there will be electronic messages on 10th Street, 14th Street and Monroe Drive.

VIP & SUPER VIP ENTRANCES:
Guests with VIP or Super VIP tickets will enter through a separate gate on 10th Street. More details will be sent directly to these ticketholders.

Will Call will be located at the ticket booth at the corner of 10th Street and Charles Allen Drive, across from the Charles Allen Gate.
