The Cook’s Warehouse offers an extensive lineup of cooking classes, some demonstration and some hands-on. How are topics and instructors chosen?
“We definitely listen to our customers and take suggestions,” says Mary Moore, owner of The Cook’s Warehouse. “We also take cues from what’s happening in the world of foods, what’s trendy and what’s coming up, what unusual things are going on. And then we also have a lot of cookbook authors and instructors from the national and international scene come in—for example, Todd English recently taught a class. We try to be fresh and relevant and seasonal.”
Classes focused on fundamentals like knife skills, sauces and pasta are perennial favorites.
“The goal is to help people have more fun and a more rewarding experience with their cooking,” says Moore.

Tuesday, Nov. 1, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Hip and Healthy Indian Chef Nancy Waldeck and Punjabi native Sucheta Rawal will create Indian inspired meals. Learn to make dishes including Indian cashews, Dal, Naan and Chicken Tikka. The class costs $45.
Wednesday, Nov. 2, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Homemade Soda author Andrew Schloss will invite you into the kitchen for this hands-on class where you will learn how to create your own flavors of soda without high fructose corn syrup or artificial sweeteners and how to use the sodas for meals like orange coffee cola pork tenderloin from cola or black cow salted caramels from root beer. After class Andrew will autograph his book.
