Readers’ Choice: Mu Lan Best Chinese Food

The Juniper Street eatery, filled with hundreds of photos of loyal diners, is the best Midtown Chinese restaurant according to Patch readers.

Midtown you have spoken this week and Mu Lan Restaurant is your favorite local Chinese restaurant as determined by our Readers' Choice poll question.

Located in a renovated Victorian house at 824 Juniper Street, this two-story restaurant serves an extensive menu of Chinese and Thai food in cozy but classy dining rooms upstairs and downstairs.

There’s people-watching outdoor seating on the porch, and a full bar on the first floor that serves wine, beer and mixed drinks. Mu Lan specializes in seafood dishes, such as Triple Delicacies, Jade Mounting Scallops, Boy Choy Shrimp and Glazed Walnut Mango Prawn.

The menu also offers familiar Americanized Chinese dishes, a low-calorie menu ("spa cuisine"), noodles, vegetarian options and a selection of cheaper lunch specials. In a nod to its regulars, the restaurant has filled the entryway with hundreds of photos of Mu Lan diners and continues to collect photos.

Mu Lan serves the Midtown area with catering, delivery, phone orders, take-out, and web orders. Congrats to Mu Lan!

Midtown Patch will return with another Readers’ Choice poll question on Monday.
