Readers' Choice: Midtown Staycation Destinations
Where do you go to get away when staying put?
It’s almost summer and that means vacation time. But with the high cost for gas and people watching every dollar they spend, for some a vacation means unplugging from the daily rat race and staying put.
For this week’s Readers’ Choice poll, we’re asking what’s your favorite spot to take a ‘staycation?’ We’ve listed several Midtown attractions, and even included some local hotels that offer staycation packages designed to let you get away without going too far:
- High Museum of Art
- Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
- Museum of Design Atlanta
- Atlantic Station (with Titanic exhibit)
- Shakespeare Tavern
- Whole World Theatre
- Piedmont Park
- Atlanta Botanical Garden
- W Atlanta - Midtown
- The Artmore Hotel
- Four Seasons Hotel
- Georgian Terrace
- Hotel Indigo
- Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center
- Loews Hotel Atlanta
So which of these is your choice for a close-to-home vacation day?
Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. The winner will be based on votes cast, positive comments posted in the section below and reviews on the Directory listing of the business. (You can find the directory listings at the links in the list above.)
We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

The Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center has the best location to enjoy all that Atlanta has to offer for a Staycation. They also have an indoor pool and the best breakfast buffet in the city!

Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center is midtown's best kept secret! It's in a great location on Spring Street within walking distance to several restaurants, theater and other attractions and minutes away from shopping and fine dining at Atlantic Station. If you want to stay in the city, yet feel as if you've been jetted away, book your room at the Georgia Tech Hotel ASAP!
