'Season of Magic' Kicks Off Today

Piedmont Park will begin new holiday offerings with a parade Sunday evening.

Piedmont Park may be the place for holiday cheer this year.

Today, the Piedmont Park Conservancy is launching a new event called the "Season of Magic," which will feature horse-drawn carriage rides, a costumed caroling parade, holiday light show and carousel rides.

The festivities kick off Sunday night with a "Naughty or Nice" caroling parade, which starts at 5 p.m. at the Legacy Fountain.

Baton Bob (an entertaining guy who frequents the park in costume) will lead the parade around the park as structures come alive with holiday lights. Prizes will be awarded to humans and dogs.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids. Entry into an after-party at Park Tavern is included, where people will enjoy a performance from Scars on 45.

More information is online.
