After a successful first event, food trucks should roll into Midtown better prepared for the demand.

On Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Atlanta's food trucks are driving into Midtown for the second .

"It's fast. It's good. It's fun to come out here and get something," said street food supporter Steven Lubel, who came out to last week's inaugural event. "It brings people together to enjoy culture."

At 999 Peachtree: Pop-Up Chef Series will welcome Steven Herman of HAVEN.

The weekly event, which is organized by the Midtown Alliance and the Atlanta Street Food Coalition, is helping to promote a hipper, more walkable community.

"People gather around the trucks," Rebecca Young of Yumbii said last week. "It's just cool."

But it may be best to get there early. Last week, many vendors sold out of food.

"This is awesome," Will Lawless with Good Food Truck said last Thursday. His truck sold out of food around 1 p.m. last week.

"We had no idea it was going to be this kind of crowd," said Don Stepanek of The Pup Truck, which sold out of hot dogs before noon last week. "We are going to be prepared [this] week."

Michael Flood, vice president of facilities and patron experience at the Woodruff Arts Center, also was pleased with last Thursday's turnout.

"We would say it was very successful," Flood said.

Tucker Berta, spokeswoman for the Midtown Alliance, had similar remarks after last week's event.

"The whole event was incredible," Berta said. "We had thousands of people come down from offices and condos and line up for the trucks at the Woodruff Arts Center and 10th and Peachtree.

"This is going to be an awesome ongoing event for Midtown."
