Suspect arrested in Georgia Tech armed robbery

Riverdale man charged in on-campus pedestrian robbery that occurred in the area of Bobby Dodd Way early Tuesday morning.

The Georgia Tech Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a pair of on-campus armed robberies this week and says it has the names of the remaining two suspects and are aggressively pursuing them.

Christopher Jamal Exom, 21, of Riverdale, was arrested on Thursday on two felony counts - parties to a crime and armed robbery - and currently is in the Fulton County jail.

"Our detectives did a thorough job of investigating this incident and it have developed some excellent leads," said Deputy Chief Rob Connolly. "We're working with our law enforcement partners from other agencies to track down the two remaining suspects."

According to the GTPD, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, a male student reported that as he was walking south on Brittain Drive towards Bobby Dodd Way, he noticed a man walking closely behind him.

The suspect approached the victim, displayed a handgun, and demanded the victim's belongings. The suspect was last seen entering the back of a silver four door sedan headed west on Bobby Dodd Way.

At around the same time, a female student reported that as she was walking east on Bobby Dodd Way towards Fowler Street, she observed a silver sedan driving towards her. A male exited the rear of the vehicle, displayed a silver handgun and demanded her property. The vehicle was last seen headed north on Techwood Drive.
