Suwanee woman killed in Brookwood Interchange accident

Duluth driver charged with DUI in one-vehicle crash Saturday on ramp from I-75 southbound to I-85 northbound

A single-vehicle accident on the Brookwood Interchange ramp early Saturday morning resulted in one woman’s death and the driver being charged with DUI and homicide by vehicle.

Atlanta police spokesman Carlos Campos said that around 5 a.m. a 2012 Toyota Corolla being driven by Stephanie Jang, 20, of Duluth, was traveling southbound on I-75 when it left the roadway attempting to enter I-85 northbound, striking an embankment.

Jang and a passenger were transported to Grady Hospital in stable condition. A second passenger, reported to be Patricia Lie, 21, of Suwanee, died at the scene according to Campos.

Jang was also charged with reckless driving and failure to maintain lane.

When they tell you to slow down as you go through this interchange, they mean it. If the signs were not enough proof the car parts that litter the earthen embankment provide a clue that lots of people crash here...I mean the grass can't even grow because people are running off the road so often.
