The Week Ahead in Midtown
You can celebrate St. Patrick's Day in several places, talk to Top Chef winner Richard Blais, visit the car show, talk about weed and run or watch the Publix Georgia Marathon.
Here are five things going on this week in Midtown. For a full list of events, look at the Patch calendar of events.
1. St. Paddy's Day. The official holiday is Sunday, but some places will start early. Check out Ri Ra Irish Pub's Weeklong St. Patrick's Day Event, Lepre*Con 2013 at the Park Tavern and ShamRock the Station at Atlantic Station. If your feet feel Irish, take Irish Dance Classes with the Burke Connolly Academy of Irish Dance.
3. Atlanta International Auto Show. You don't have to be a car nut to enjoy this event. Starts at noon Wednesday and runs through Sunday at the Georgia World Congress Center. $10.
4. Southern Cannabis Reform Conference. Are marijuana laws too strict? This two-day conference starts at 8 a.m. Friday at Spring4th Complex (Center+Annex) at 728 Spring St. NW, Atlanta. $30.
5. Publix Georgia Marathon. The full and half marathons start and end at Centennial Olympic Park and will wind through Midtown locations on Sunday morning. Free to watch.
