Tierra Restaurant -- the orange-colored eatery located on Piedmont Avenue, not far from the Atlanta Botanical Garden -- will close for business early next year.
Atlanta Magazine reported Tuesday the restaurant will shut its doors on Feb. 17, 2012 -- just a day after its 13th anniversary. The upscale restaurant, which features Latin American and Carribean cuisine, opened for business Feb. 16, 1999.
Owners Dan and Ticha Krinsky told the magazine "economic doldrums" and other issues pushed them to close.
Nearby Ansley Park residents are sure to miss Tierra, being it was one of the best, low-key eateries within walking distance.

Odd, since it's always so packed you can't get a walk-in seat, and reservations are scare!

I agree with the previous poster...it is hard to get a reservation, and the restaurant is always full...there HAS to be another reason other than the economy...it seems like everyone is using that excuse these days...but I suspect there's another story/reason...
