The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra welcomed a different crowd of music fans Thursday night.

Trey Anastasio — the lead singer of the jam band Phish — kicked off his sold-out four-show symphony tour in Atlanta on Thursday night.

Anastasio treated fans to two sets of Phish songs, switching between the acoustic and electric guitar throughout the performance.

Popular jams “Stash” and “You Enjoy Myself” had the crowd moving in their seats. Acoustic numbers included the well-known “Divided Sky,” “Water in the Sky” and “If I Could.”

The encore kicked off with “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End,” a popular Beatles medley written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

This is the first orchestra tour for the Phish front man, who has played with the Vermont Youth Orchestra, the Nashville Chamber Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Baltimore Symphony and the Scorchio String Quintet in Princeton, New Jersey.

Anastasio will travel to Pittsburgh, Penn. on Feb. 14, Denver, Colo. on Feb. 28 and close out the tour in Los Angeles, Calif. on March 10.

Quite the "pinky out" affair. We had a very relaxed, beautiful night. The hippies all played dress up & although there were plenty of crushed velvet smoking jackets & tuxedo t-shirts, the normally wild crowd acted like perfect little ladies & gentlemen, mostly... The orchestra was definitely the star, almost drowning the guitarist out sometimes.
