Two Armed Robberies Reported in Midtown

Two armed robberies were reported in Midtown Tuesday night.

The first incident occurred around 9:40 p.m. at the parking deck of the Tenside Apartments on Northside Drive, according to a crime alert from Georgia Tech.

A male Georgia Tech student and a female drove their separate vehicles into the fifth level of the the parking deck.

"When they exited their vehicles, a male offender wearing a ski mask exited a nearby vehicle, pointed a handgun at the victims and demanded their property," says the crime alert. "The offender got back into the vehicle and was last seen headed southbound on Howell Mill Road."

No injuries were reported.

Atlanta police are looking for two suspects in the armed robbery. They are described as black males. One of the men is between 5-feet, 9-inches and 6-feet tall with a slim build. The pair was last seen in green-colored, mid-sized SUV.

The second incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 800 block of 8th Street, according to an email from the Midtown Ponce Security Alliance.

A woman had just parked her vehicle on the street and was headed to her apartment when she was approached by a man who pointed a gun at her.

"The suspect demanded her purse and laptop bag," the alliance said. "The victim gave the suspect her belongings and he then fled on foot west on 8th Street towards Argonne Avenue."

A lookout was broadcast over the radio but officers were unable to locate the suspect. No injuries were reported.

The suspect is described as a black male about 20 years old with a slim build. He's about 5-feet, 10-inches tall and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue winter coat with a red and gray stripe and a hood.
