Visions for Vacancies: Goody's Kodak Building

What do you want to see in this longtime vacant space?

Welcome to another edition of "Visions for Vacancies," where we visit a local vacant commercial building and ask you what you'd like to see go in that space.

Today, we’re on Ponce de Leon Avenue at a pair of very familiar buildings: the former Goody’s film developing store and the Atlanta Eagle.

Located at 300-306 Ponce de Leon, the adjoining buildings were foreclosed on about three years ago and have been for sale ever since. The Kodak roof-top signage is an Atlanta landmark, but that building has been abandoned for many years and will require major renovations if utilized.

The is very much used (but nonetheless for sale) as the gay bar establishment is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary this weekend by co-producing the third annual Atlanta Leather Pride.

The buildings sit on .42 acres at the corner of Argonne Ave. and Ponce De Leon Ave. and the combined approximately 15,000 square-foot structures can be had for $950,000.

Don’t concern yourself with things such as setback regulations and other zoning issues the city has to deal with. We want to know that if it were up to you, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community in this space right now?
