A. D. King Foundation will host the 4th Annual Youth
Empowerment Parade. We invite you to join in celebrating and preparing for this extraordinary event Saturday February 16, 2013 at 12 Noon, starting at
Washington High School and ending at the Georgia State Capitol then convening at Morris Brown College & Morehouse College.

Reverend A.D. King, the deceased brother of Dr. Martin Luther King, was committed to empowering children through education and mentoring.

The A. D. King Foundation Inc., Non-Profit (IRS 501 (c) (3) Organization and  is a non-violent conflict resolution entity formed to revolutionize the mind set,
attitude and behavior that promote violence and war with non-violent principles, methods and direct actions as the preferred means of resolving conflict resolution throughout the world. The foundation is also committed to youth education and holistic development.

According to Dr. Babs Onabanjo, President and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, the purpose
of the parade is to engage our youth in civic activities, to express appreciation of African-American Heritage, to become more engaged in the Civil and Human Rights Movements and to create awareness and opportunities for youth mentoring and holistic educational development.

The parade is organized to empower the youth with the spirit of humanity and to showcase their talents, culture, creativity, pride and to be a part of a global community of youth empowerment leaders. The parade is also designed to embrace educational values, mentoring, coaching, and prescriptive intervention methods and practices with the goal of reducing drop-out rates in our school systems.

We encourage high schools, middle schools, Technical Colleges & Universities bands to participate. Washington High and Morris Brown College bands will lead the
parade. The parade is free to general public. All youth organizations and vendors are invited to participate.

We would like to thank our sponsors for their continued support: Heritage Cadillac, Everest Institute, Don Jackson. Lincoln Mercury, Malcolm Cunningham, Home Depot, Living Healthy Happy & Green, The Serve and Save
