Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist, Dave Barry, will be the featured speaker at an Atlanta Press Club Newsmaker Breakfast on Thursday, February 14. He will also sign copies of his recent book, Insane City.

Dave Barry is a New York Times bestselling author and humor columnist. Barry’s syndicated columns have appeared in more than 500 newspapers throughout theUnitedState and abroad. In 1988, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary “for his consistently effective use of humor”  and he remains the only humorist to ever win a Pulitzer Prize. Barry has written more than 30 comedic novels and books of parody. Two of these were the inspiration for the CBS sitcom “Dave’s World,” which is based on Barry’s life and writing.

Barry is often regarded for his writing style and sense of humor. Ridiculing and evaluating an array of subjects, Barry “expertly highlights the irony and absurdity in everyday life.” Barry lives inFlorida, with his wife, Michelle, a sportswriter for the Miami Herald (where Barry worked). They have a son, Rob, and a daughter, Sophie.
