No Upsets in Local City Council Races, Mary Norwood Wins Back At-Large Seat

Early Results show a steady turnout and changes within the at-large city council races.

Alex Wan, Carla Smith, Natlyn Archibong and their supporters are celebrating Tuesday night, as they all won their races to return to the Atlanta City Council.

In the end they all had competitors that ended up not having the power at the polls to uproot the incumbent.

The surprises, or changes came in the Post 2 and Post 3 At-Large races. The incumbents Aaron Watson and Lamar Willis both lost their at-large seats on the council. Watson was beat out by Mary Norwood, who held the seat previously before a run for Atlanta Mayor.  Willis was beaten by Andre Dickens.

Mayor Kasim Reed was also elected for another term.
