KARIN MEBIUS JOINS ACTOR’S EXPRESS BOARD

Karin Mebius, a respected Atlanta animal rights and social leader, has joined the board of directors at West Midtown's Actor’s Express, the Atlanta-based theater company that challenges and reflects contemporary human experiences in an inclusive environment with unique and cutting edge stage productions.  In addition to her board seat, she will serve on the theater company’s special events and development committees.

                                            Mebius is a licensed real estate broker and has worked in residential and commercial real estate.

A resident of Inman Park, she is recognized for her wide variety of community involvements.  She has been an Inman Park Festival committee member for six years, chairing the Inman Park Festival Butterfly Ball for three years.  After that chairing Merchandize for the festival, organizing the sale of festival memorabilia and home tour tickets. In 2007, Mebius started the “Inman Diners,” a popular neighborhood supper club, fostering community ties within her neighborhood. She is currently a board member of the Little 5 Five Points Community Center, where she is focused on overall strategy and real estate issues for the center.

Mebius is an avid supporter of Animals Asia, an organization fighting against bear bile farming.

 

Mebius is a native of The Netherlands and moved to the United States in 1995.  Prior to moving, she worked in production and design.  She is a graduate of the University of Amsterdam with a degree in European Studies.

 

“I look forward to serving on the Actor’s Express board and helping to continue the theater’s mission of staging exciting works,” said Mebius.  “It’s an honor to work with such a great group of staff and fellow volunteers to help Actor’s Express build on its 25-years of history in Atlanta.”

 

“The caliber of talent Actor’s Express has been able to attract to its board is a testament to how well-regarded this theater company is in Atlanta,” said Actor’s Express Board President Bruce Cohen.  “We’re pleased Karin has agreed to join our board and bring her talents and passion to our group.”
