Worthmore Jewelers — the No. 3 jewelry retailer in the United States for 2013 — will celebrate their 20th anniversary of serving the Midtown and Decatur communities this August.
Worthmore will mark the milestone with an in-store charity event benefitting the Georgia Center for Humane Education (GCHE) on September 7th. The gathering will also kick off the Midtown location’s special two-month-long animal art exhibit, also benefitting GCHE.
During the GCHE event, patrons, staff, and community members will gather at the store’s Midtown location for a full day of fun. The festivities begin during the day with an auction featuring items such as an African safari for two; the Ball Watch Museum Tour — a traveling exhibit which includes informational sessions from a certified Ball Watch expert and a collection of original Ball Watches and historical Ball Watch Company documents; and designer David Wysor’s formal unveiling of his newest collection, not yet available in stores. The entertainment continues into the evening with live music.

The event’s beneficiary, GCHE, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that acts as a central resource for the Human Education philosophy — respecting life, human and non-human, in homes, communities, and the environment. Specifically, the organization works to confront issues of animal cruelty and societal violence.
Geri Botnick, Worthmore co-owner, said the organization’s focus on animal cruelty is what drew Worthmore to support their cause. “At Worthmore, we love animals,” said Botnick. “We even have a resident K-9 employee, Snorkel Sam, who makes regular store appearances.”

Worthmore is well known for its unique approach to jewelry retail — with a focus on the experience of finding that perfect piece, rather than the sale itself. This reputation is furthered by the store’s personal and festive take on customer appreciation.
