Worthmore Jewelers Celebrates 20 Years in Business

Worthmore Jewelers — the No. 3 jewelry retailer in the United States for 2013 — will celebrate their 20th anniversary of serving the Midtown and Decatur communities this August.

Worthmore will mark the milestone with an in-store charity event benefitting the Georgia Center for Humane Education (GCHE) on September 7th. The gathering will also kick off the Midtown location’s special two-month-long animal art exhibit, also benefitting GCHE.

During the GCHE event, patrons, staff, and community members will gather at the store’s Midtown location for a full day of fun. The festivities begin during the day with an auction featuring items such as an African safari for two; the Ball Watch Museum Tour — a traveling exhibit which includes informational sessions from a certified Ball Watch expert and a collection of original Ball Watches and historical Ball Watch Company documents; and designer David Wysor’s formal unveiling of his newest collection, not yet available in stores. The entertainment continues into the evening with live music.

The event’s beneficiary, GCHE, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that acts as a central resource for the Human Education philosophy — respecting life, human and non-human, in homes, communities, and the environment. Specifically, the organization works to confront issues of animal cruelty and societal violence.

Geri Botnick, Worthmore co-owner, said the organization’s focus on animal cruelty is what drew Worthmore to support their cause. “At Worthmore, we love animals,” said Botnick. “We even have a resident K-9 employee, Snorkel Sam, who makes regular store appearances.”

Worthmore is well known for its unique approach to jewelry retail — with a focus on the experience of finding that perfect piece, rather than the sale itself. This reputation is furthered by the store’s personal and festive take on customer appreciation.

Harris Botnick, Worthmore founder and co-owner, says these types of events have become a store tradition and are a fun way to give back to the communities who support them. “We wouldn’t be where we are today without the amazing people of Decatur and Midtown,” says Botnick. “Their support is truly an invaluable part of our success.”

Worthmore also recently celebrated the Decatur location’s fifth anniversary during the Decatur Art Walk in May of this year.

Worthmore Jewelers opened their first location in Midtown Atlanta in 1994 and opened a second location on the downtown Decatur Square in 2008. Having been named “Best of Atlanta” by several publications, “Best to Do Business With,” and No. 3 jewelry retailer in the United States, Worthmore is continuously receiving national recognition. Worthmore specializes in unique fine jewelry, including wedding, commitment, and engagement rings, watches, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, silver, and custom work. They also have ever-rotating art exhibits featuring diverse sets of eclectic artwork.
