AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run Returns to Midtown Sunday
The Midtown restaurant, The Lawrence, is offering gourmet picnic baskets for sale with a portion of the sales going to benefit this weekend's 22nd annual event at Piedmont Park.
On Sunday, Oct. 21, Piedmont Park will again be the site for what has become the largest AIDS-related fundraising event in the Southeast, the 22nd annual AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run.
Produced by AID Atlanta, the AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run raises funds for organizations in the metro-Atlanta area that provide imperative programs for more than 25,000 people infected or affected with HIV/AIDS.
With the support and dedication of teams and corporate sponsors, the 2011 AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run raised $1 million during its campaign. To register to walk or run please click here, and to register to be a part of the volunteer crew click here.

Another way to give to the event is to purchase a creative, gourmet picnic basket from the Midtown restaurant, The Lawrence. For $25, guests will receive an all-inclusive picnic lunch and a gift certificate to use on a future visit to The Lawrence, located at 905 Juniper Street at the corner of 8th St.
After picking up their baskets at The Lawrence, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., guests can take them directly to the park for a gourmet al-fresco lunch before the walk begins. A portion of the proceeds from the meals goes to the AIDS Walk cause to help them reach their $1.1 million goal.
