Article 14's Arianne Fielder Named Semi-Finalist in Woodford Reserve Bar Competition

Article 14 is already known for its good food and great ambiance, and now their beverage manager and resident mixologist, Arianne Fielder is bringing the Midtown restaurant even more attention by being named the regional semi-finalist for the Woodford Reserve Manhattan experience bartender exhibition program.

According to written press release, she beat out 14 other competitors at Tongue & Groove on Monday, November 4 for this coveted position in the finals taking place in New York City on January 13, 2014.

Arianne Fielder beat out her regional competition with something she calls a “Kentucky Sundress.”  Fielder says, “I wanted to create a Manhattan variation that would cater to the female palate. My personal goal has been to covert more women into whiskey drinkers and that was my direction with the drink. During my recent visit to bourbon country, I noticed that the standard attire for women at the distilleries was a sundress and cowboy boots. I loved it. So classic, southern and feminine. For my drink, I wanted to bring out the feminine and pretty qualities of the bourbon. The cocktail has strawberry and rosemary infused vermouth blanc, orange bitters, elderflower liqueur, a green chartreuse rinse and is garnished with a rose I made with a strawberry.”

Sounds awesome and something I am sure the guys could have a taste for too!

About the Woodford Reserve Competition
From September 16 to November 15, Woodford Reserve and Esquire is hosts a series of bartender exhibition events in 30 cities around the United States. Bartenders will showcase their unique versions of the Manhattan cocktail during each of the Manhattan Experience events. Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Chris Morris and a panel of judges will evaluate all bartender recipes to select each city’s Master of the Manhattan. From the winning recipes in each city, a total of six bartenders will then be selected to showcase their cocktails during the Manhattan Experience finale in New York City on January 13, 2014.
