Atlanta’s Gay and Gay-Friendly Community Collecting Toys for Children in Need

'For the Kid in All of Us' organization's 10th Annual Toy Party and Silent Auction is set for Sunday, Dec. 2.

The local non-profit organization For the Kid in All of Us will hold its 10th annual Toy Party & Silent Auction on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Americas Mart 3, located at 240 Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta.

“In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Toy Party & Silent Auction we have planned a very special evening for our guests, including an amazing Cirque performer who will dazzle our guests throughout the evening,” said Alison Hall, president of the gay-friendly For the Kid in All of Us, in a statement.

“David Garibaldi from America’s Got Talent will perform in the VIP area and DJ Vicki Powell will keep the party going – there will be something for everyone to enjoy this year.”

There are three ways to attend the 10th Annual Toy Party & Silent Auction:

  • General Admission ($5 per person plus an unwrapped toy with a $20 value or more) features live entertainment with an amazing Cirque performer with the Toy Party ‘Cirque de Jouets’ theme;
  • Toy Party ‘Ultra Lounge’ ($50 per person + an unwrapped toy) includes a little piece of the VIP experience on the main level with dedicated bars and reserved tables; and
  • The VIP Experience ($250 per person + an unwrapped toy) includes entry into the VIP areas with premium open bar and hors d’oeuvres; entry into the VIP-only David Garibaldi performance; live auction; access to the main level ‘Ultra Lounge’; a commemorative gift and more.

Guests must be at least 21 years old to attend the Toy Party & Silent Auction and provide a valid picture ID.

The silent auction will include a wide assortment of items from local donors including restaurants, travel, art and more.

“What began a decade ago as a house party where everyone brought an unwrapped toy has grown into one of the ‘must attend’ events of the season where more than 4,000 people show up and have a good time while ensuring that underprivileged kids in our community have a gift on Christmas morning,” Hall said.

All contributions – toys and gift cards – will be donated to 24 non-profit agencies that serve Georgia’s children in need in time for the holidays.

In 2003, a group of friends founded For the Kid in All of Us, the all-volunteer non-profit organization that produces The Toy Party & Silent Auction.

And since 2003, For the Kid in All of Us has distributed more than 35,000 toys and gift cards through The Toy Party & Silent Auction, 9,450 backpacks filled with school supplies and gift cards through Backpack in the Park, and raised more than $470,000 to donate to numerous agencies and organization serving Georgia’s less fortunate children.

I miss the old Toy Party in the freight depot with unlimited drinks and no VIP lounge.
