Bert's Big Speedo Adventure

Atlanta Santa Speedo Run raises $125,000 for Bert's Big Adventure.

On Saturday, the Atlanta Santa Speedo Run sent scantily-clad runners sprinting down Peachtree Street in Midtown.

The annual 1.5-mile fun run raised $125,000 for Bert’s Big Adventure, a non-profit organization that gives back to Atlanta-area children with terminal and chronic illnesses.

Bert Weiss, the organization’s namesake and host of The Bert Show, participated in the event. His wife, Stacey, and his employees raced through the streets on roller skates, according to a spokeswoman.

"This was probably one of the most exciting fundraisers that we have ever been involved in," Weiss said in a release. "The runners went above and beyond helping raise a huge amount of money for a small organization like Bert's Big Adventure and we are so appreciative of the gift."
