This month's PARC (Park Atlanta Rescue Coalition) meeting will be on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at Peachtree Hills Park (doughnuts and coffee await will be served). All are invited to attend this networking meeting for park advocates. Representatives from the City of Atlanta Parks Department will attend to provide an update on the issues facing parks in the upcoming city budget. Attendees will leave with clear steps they can take to connect with their elected official on important issues related to promoting and preserving parks.

Each year, Park Pride supports communities in developing and realizing conceptual master plans for parks in their area through the Park Visioning Program. Led by professional landscape architects on Park Pride’s staff, a community is taken through an eight-month process of compiling community input to determine where their needs are and to design (or re-design) their neighborhood park, converting the community’s dream into a conceptual, but tangible, masterplan. The deadline for submitting applications is May 1, 2012.
