An event is being held Monday to raise items

Atlantic Station is collecting items Monday, May 2, to aid victims of the recent tornados in north Georgia and Alabama.

From noon to 6 p.m., representatives from Atlantic Station's management team will be collecting items in Central Park.

"Working with area charities, Atlantic Station will be taking donations of water, dry goods, clothing (underwear and socks in particular) as well as diapers, formula and other essentials," Walter Woods, spokesman for Atlantic Station, said in an email Monday.
