Mayor to Speak at Annual Landmark Lunch in Piedmont Park

Kasim Reed will serve as keynote speaker next month in celebration of the Piedmont Conservancy's 25th anniversary.

Patch Staff Report

Piedmont Park Conservancy will kickoff its 25th anniversary by hosting Landmark Lunch on Thursday, May 8.

Matt Bronfman, Chief Executive Officer of Jamestown, and John Izard, Jr., Executive Director of Cushman & Wakefield will serve as Corporate Co-Chairs for this year’s event.

Landmark Lunch began in 1997 as an annual fundraiser for Piedmont Park. The first luncheon honored Mayor Ivan Allen, Mayor Bill Campbell, Mayor Maynard Jackson, Mayor Sam Massell and Mayor Andrew Young - the five living Atlanta mayors at that time. For the last eighteen years, Landmark Lunch has been Atlanta’s most anticipated spring fundraiser.

Some of the past keynote speakers include Arthur Blank, Charles Brewer, Jim Kennedy, Don Keough, Laura Seydel Turner, Ted Turner and the Honorable Andrew Young. Piedmont Park Conservancy will continue the tradition of offering the stage to Atlanta’s most influential leaders with Mayor Kasim Reed serving as keynote speaker for this year’s luncheon.

“I am honored to be this year’s keynote speaker at the 18th Annual Landmark Lunch,” said Reed in a statement. “For the last 25 years, Piedmont Park Conservancy has been a steadfast partner in revitalizing and expanding Piedmont Park. Because of their tireless commitment to maintaining the Park as a world-class green space, surrounding neighborhoods are now bustling with successful businesses, young professionals, active families and great schools.”
