The MNA also held Midtown Shining Light Safety Walks in the spring and summer in acts of solidarity in the fight against neighborhood crime.
Make plans to meet up with your neighbors at the corner of Piedmont Avenue and 10th Street to walk the streets of Midtown in a group accompanied by Atlanta Police Department and Midtown Ponce Security Alliance uniformed officers. Bring your family, your friends, your neighbors, your flashlight, even your dog.
Police officers will walk with residents to get to know you and offer safety tips on living in an urban environment.
It’s a busy week in the public profile for the MNA, which will host another Mingle in Midtown on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Escorpión Tequila Bar & Cantina. This Community Leadership Social will bring together residents and business professionals with leaders from the City of Atlanta, Midtown and surrounding neighborhoods in a very relaxed environment. See here for more information.
Also, the October Midtown Book Group meeting is set for Wednesday from 8-10 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble/Georgia Tech at 5th & Spring streets. The group will be discussing The Snowman by Jo Nesbo:
"The Snowman, Norwegian author Jo Nesbø's U.S. debut, should please even the most die-hard Stieg Larsson fans. On the first day of snow, a child wakes up to find his mother has disappeared during the night. Outside, a snowman has appeared out of nowhere, the calling card of one of the most terrifying serial killers in recent fiction... Brilliantly crafted, this credible and dark page-turner fully fleshes out the characters, especially Hole, a hardened detective with sharp instincts and real heart."
