Participate in a Photo Scavenger Hunt around Midtown

The Explore Midtown! Photo Scavenger Hunt takes people on a hunt around Midtown.

As part of Celebrate! Midtown Atlanta -- a week-long celebration of Midtown that includes the Midtown Tour of Homes and Midtown Atlanta Shop and Dine Week --  there will be a new event: The Explore Midtown! Photo Scavenger Hunt.

The scavenger hunt will be held on Sunday, April 10th, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

"This will be a great event to all the Midtown walkers and those who know the neighborhood well and those would like to learn more," said David Harman, board member of the Midtown Neighbors' Association.

Teams will given a list of clues, some obvious and others cryptic, and they must take a photo with that answer within a 2 1/2-hour time frame, said organizer Chris Rankine. Clues will involve landmarks, famous places, popular restaurants, local celebrities and personalities, commercial establishments and other beloved places that make Midtown Atlanta special.

For example, participants may find themselves racing on foot to a bar at 11th and West Peachtree streets to find a certain photo, to a new trendy home furnishing establishment on Peachtree near 11th to find an item inside, and then over to the patio of a restaurant on Juniper near 11th to find a State Senator, Rankine said.

The starting location is Table 1280 on Peachtree Street; the ending location is at Engine 11 Firehouse Tavern on North Avenue.  The boundaries are: 16th Street to the north, North Avenue to the south, Williams Street to the west, and Myrtle Street/Piedmont Avenue to the east.
