'Party With The Past' Wednesday at the Margaret Mitchell House

New free history series from the Atlanta History Center debuts Wednesday and will take place at a different historic spot in the city each month.

Interested in Atlanta history? If so you’re in luck as the Atlanta History Center (AHC) debuts its “Party With The Past’’ series on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at the Margaret Mitchell House in Midtown.

This free history series will take place at a different historic spot in the city each month and will be a fun and informative way to introduce people to Atlanta, the AHC staff, and famous Atlantans – both alive and dead.

Wednesday’s event will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Margaret Mitchell House located at 990 Peachtree Street.

There will be drinks available for purchase, including local beers and a signature drink – the Apple Scarlett Martini; plus complimentary light bites from Taco Mac.

All are invited to come and mingle and then partake in a 20-minute conversation with AHC President and CEO Sheffield Hale as he shares little-known stories about Mitchell and her novel, "Gone with the Wind."

The next Party With The Past event will be held at the Oakland Cemetery on Oct. 18, 2012 and future event locations will the Atlanta University Center, Cabbagetown, Underground Atlanta, and other historic sites around the city.
