Pet Parade, ATL Paint Party, Atlanta Rollergirls & More Saturday Fun

It's not all about the Dogwood Festival on Saturday.

With the Dogwood Festival in full swing, hopefully Mother Nature will cooperate on Saturday. But there is a 60 percent chance of rain Saturday with temperatures expected to reach the low 70s.

With the 76th annual festival expected to bring thousands to the Midtown area, traffic will be congested around Piedmont Park. Still, there are other options to fill your day.

Maybe volunteering is on your Saturday planner. On Friday, Atlanta Gas Light held a successful volunteer effort in collecting trash along the south portion of the company’s adopted BeltLine segment in celebration of Earth Day. (See pictures with this article)

At the , volunteers will prepare food boxes for distribution. Other activities will include gardening projects such as planting monkey grass and juniper bushes, along with miscellaneous grounds clean-up.

Finally, the ATL Paint Party will be quite the colorful scene Saturday night at 455 14th Street. See here for more information and here’s how the event’s promoters describe it:

Florescent body paint flying amid an amazing lights and special effects show all night long! Free paint drops, Cryo Cannons blasting all around with R. Garcia, Dub Step, Queen Billie Jeanz and some special unannounced guests providing the soundtrack!

In the basement "Darkroom," black lights and lasers are the only light you will have as you dance to the glow of the paint, dripping from your face.

LIVE body painting on stage, freak shows and more will be crawling all over this formerly abandoned church in the heart of Atlanta!

WEAR WHITE cloths and be prepared...that will certainly change

Food Trucks on hand to feed the masses and a full bar to keep the party lubed. 21+ only.
