How would you help make Midtown an eco-district?

The Midtown Alliance seeks community input on how best to create a community-wide sustainability action plan for Midtown.

Last week, more than 200 people joined Midtown Alliance for the kick off of Greenprint Midtown, an initiative to create the South’s first urban “eco-district.”

With the help of local residents, Midtown can build off of its existing assets to become even greener. The Midtown Alliance is engaging the community in developing a community-wide sustainability action plan focusing on five key areas – water, energy, waste, transportation and greenspace.

To better understand the challenges and opportunities, they are encouraging every Midtown employee and resident to complete a brief survey. The information gathered in this survey will help them determine what strategies are most important to you.

At the meeting last week, many resident scratched down ideas on post-it notes (see photos with this article), and now the Midtown Alliance wants to hear from you. Take the opportunity to take the three-minute survey here and feel free to forward to your friends and co-workers in Midtown. Your opinion counts!
