Artlantis Arts and Music Festival Set for June 2

The fourth annual Artlantis Arts and Music Festival is gearing up for June 2--and they could use some volunteers.

Artlantis Arts and Music Festival, which is in its fourth year and focuses entirely on spotlighting local talent, is gearing up for festival day on June 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of Druid Hills Baptist Church.

Artlantis is run by Mark Basehore and James McConnell, the same duo behind . Their aim for the festival, just like with Beep Beep, is to showcase emerging artists from the Atlanta area and introduce them to a large festivalgoing crowd.

This year features a wide variety of artists like Eric Warren, B.J. Rathur, Kate Morales, WonderRoot, SarahLou Designs and Nathan Phaneuf, plus many more. There will also be eight bands performing on the church steps, including Dog Bite, Mirror Mode and Ghost Bikini. Some artists may even do interactive booths to let visitors get into an artsy mood and create something too. Also, art for sale at Artlantis tends to be reasonably priced and great for collectors.

The festival has grown fast in its four years, more than doubling its booths from to 50. Attendance has also doubled from 750 to 1,500.

The festival needs volunteers at different times of the day on June 2, too. There's a morning shift that involves unloading and setting up the tents, three different shifts during the day and a breakdown shift in the evening. Click here for more details about volunteering. Also follow their Facebook page for information and previews of the available art.
