Atlanta Symphony's “First Friday” Concert Series to be Shorter and Less Formal

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will hosts its inaugural "First Friday" concert on Friday, November 1st at 6:30 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

According to the ASO website, "Music Director Robert Spano will lead the Orchestra in Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Stephen Hough and Beethoven's Symphony No. 5."

This concert will be the first of five "First Friday" classical concerts to be held at 6:30 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall.  The concerts are supposed to last about one-hour with no intermission breaks to make the performances shorter and more accessible for younger working audiences in Midtown.  Patrons are encouraged to arrive at the Woodruff Arts Center beginning at 5 p.m. for drink specials and light fare.

Following the Friday concert, the Orchestra will host its second Symphony Social of the 2012-2014 season.  The social is a networking event for young professionals. Tickets are $25 and must be purchased in advance and include the orchestra performance.
