Inscribing/Retelling Dewberry Gallery of SCAD

The SCAD exhibitions department presents the opening reception of "Inscribing/Retelling," a thesis exhibition by M.F.A. print-making candidate Ashley L. Schick. The etchings, drawings and artists' books in "Inscribing/Retelling" examine systems of communication and connection. Schick draws on family narratives to create pieces describing social and emotional interconnections. In the process of making the pieces — reworking the copper plates and repeating imagery — Schick is exploring how she remembers these stories and the way they are kept and rewritten over time.
