Orchard Daze: Hanging Gardens

Babylon meets Midtown with Orchid Daze 2012 - highlighting dramatic hanging gardens cascading with lush, fragrant beauty.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of both the Orchid Daze exhibition and the Fuqua Orchid Center, home to the largest collection of species orchids in the United States.  Orchid Daze runs through April 15.  The Garden is closed on Mondays. 

Each Saturday will feature guided exhibition tours at 10 am. 

Orchid market weekends will be held on February 4 - 5, March 3 - 4, April 7 -8 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.  It features gorgeous live orchids from local growers, supplies, expert advice and orchid art.

Orchid Care Clinics will be held on Saturday, February 5, March 3, and April 7 from 10 a.m. - noon.  You will join members of the Fuqua Orchid Center staff for some expert orchid advice. Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and noon with your questions and a maximum of two orchid plants for advice on care for your temperamental treasures.  This clinic is free with Garden admission and registration is not required. Materials for repotting orchids are available for a charge of $5 per plant.

The Orchid Society Show will be held Friday through Sunday, March 9 - 11 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.  There will be hundreds of orchids on display and for sale as well as orchid supplies.

Vanilla Sunday is scheduled for Sunday, March 18 from
1 - 4 p.m.  You will enjoy the aromas and flavors of this amazing orchid during an afternoon of cooking demonstrations, sensory experiences and delicious vanilla sundaes.
