Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters

Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters opens Saturday, October 15, 2011, and runs through April 29, 2012. The exclusive presentation of this exhibition at the High continues the High collaboration with The Museum of Modern Art, New York. Picasso to Warhol is one of the largest concentrations of modern art masterpieces to ever be exhibited in the southeastern United States, with over 100 works of art created by 14 of the most iconic artists from the 20th century: Henri Matisse, Piet Mondrian, Constantin Brancusi, Fernand Léger, Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Giorgio de Chirico, Joan Miró, Alexander Calder, Romare Bearden, Louise Bourgeois, Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol and Jasper Johns.

Opening Events include:

The Picasso to Warhol Gala, Thursday, October 6, 6:30 pm.

AfterPOP Party on the Piazza, Thursday, October 6, 9 pm.

Opening Lecture: Inside the Curatorial Process: Picasso to Warhol, Thursday, October 13, 7 pm.

, Saturday, October 29, 8 to midnight.

Oscilloscope Circle of Trust Screening: Who Took the Bomp? Le Tigre on Tour and special Q & A with High Museum Culture Shock DJ Kathleen Hanna on October 30 at 3 pm.

Scheduled Museum hours:
Monday:  Closed
Tuesday and Wednesday:  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday:  10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday and Saturday:  10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 12 noon to 5 p.m.
Friday Jazz (3rd Friday of every month): 5 to 10 p.m.
