Radcliffe Bailey Exhibit Opening and Lecture

Saturday, July 9, 8 pm to midnight
Culture Shock:  Celebrate the opening of “Radcliffe Bailey: Memory as Medicine” at an outdoor party. Tour the exhibition then enjoy dance music al fresco from some of Atlanta’s premier DJs, including Karl Injex, Kai Alce and DJ Kemit. We’ll end the night with a special performance by DJ Maseo (De La Soul).
Tickets $15, $10 for members.

Lecture: Radcliffe Bailey’s Art as Aesthetic Action
Join Carol Thompson, the High’s Fred and Rita Richman Curator of African Art as she discusses how “Radcliffe Bailey:  Memory as Medicine” explores American history and memory to encourage healing and transcendence through art.  This program is offered in conjunction with the National Black Arts Festival. As seating is limited, guests may reserve no more than two tickets per person. Tickets are free and available through the Woodruff Center Box Office at 404-733-5000. Reserved tickets which have not been picked up will be released 10 minutes after the event starts. Guests without reserved tickets may be admitted if seating is available.
